"August Hues" Art Exhibition
Time & Location
About The Event
For one night only, this Friday the 9th of August, join us at The Shifteye Studios for "AUGUST HUES", an Art Exhibition by Ng'endo Kinyanjui, George Ng'ayu & Ygoce Karigu.
The exhibition will be followed by a Musical Performance by Canadian guitarist Gabriel Muteru and a Poetry Reading by stargazing dream chaser Laura Ekumbo.
Ng'endo Kinyanju's exhibition collection is diverse in nature, sourcing inspiration from impressions, memories, and imaginings. The common thread being the act of questioning - perception, aesthetic, and commonly held beliefs.
George Ng'ayu works with a wide range of media from acrylic paints, to pencil and ink sketches, glass, and cardboard. George is not afraid to push the limit. He gathers his inspiration from all over and believes in transforming ideas from everything he experiences. Welcome to George's journey.
Ygoce Karigu is all about conservation and sustainability in the art that he creates, by making art pieces from old wood and other collectable items that are rather considered as waste. He uses them to replicate items that can be used in our daily lives not only as art but as interior decor as well as household accessories. His inspiration comes from life and it's mysteries.
Gabriel Muteru is Canadian-born singer-songwriter whose distinct sound and vocal abilities have been compared to that of Jeff Buckley's by his cohorts in the Canadian music scene.
Having had a great many experiences on stage with his folk-rock band, Wine Jacket, Gabriel is easily able to make it his home and he always strives to reach out and embrace his audiences with the warmth of his music.
Laura Ekumbo is a stargazing dream chaser who has; performed poetry, acted, sang, danced, spoken, and hosted events on over 30 stages in 4 countries around the world. She also really likes fries.
